Tragic news on my cat Shakespear

while I was on vacation, my dad gave me a call and told me our cat Shakespear had been missing for 3 days. (This cat is inddor/outdoor and knows the neighborhood. It is unlikely he got lost or went stray). Dad told me what the neighbor across from our house found, it was black fur and guts. That a coyote attacked a cat or something.

Once I returned home I put up missing cat flyers up. Now it is more than a week since his disapperance and my father has given up hope saying he was likely that cat across the street who was killed.

I on the other hand think Shakespear could still be alive. I have had a cat before disappear then come back home after a few months. What do you think? Could my cat Shakespear be alive?

Exspecially if someone else started to feed it and once they stop feeding it itll find its way back home. Also sometimes people will take a cat home thinking its a stray cat if it has no color on so this can also be an option and these people arent likely to give it back.

You can also post adds on Craigslist for your area. Alot of people post their and also alot of people check on their for lost pets when they find a "stray" animal.
