Hiiii im Boo Boo, im a rat, im nearly 1 years old. im a mummys girl, i always have to know what shes doing and what shes eating. ill even follow her into the shower sometimes but as soon as the water hits me im out of there! im a nice, gentle girl and i love my life. im sooo lucky.
lol hope she starts to listen. So do your rats free range 24/7? If so, that is so kewl! I wish I could do that, but I love other animals to and it wouldn't be safe for the ratties. I hope to have a ratty room once I move into my own place and have a good steady job. Have you ever seen the ferret nation cages? They're HUGE! There is a girl on the community I mentioned that has 2 of them and she has a mixed colony (all fixed) that live in them. Hey, just out of curiosity, did you know that getting your female rats spayed before they are 6 months old, reduces their chance of tumors from 70% to 4%!? I wish I had known before my girls were reached 6 months, then maybe Sheila wouldn't have hers now. Just thought I would let you know.
Oh, there are some great sites that you might be able to find some answers on:
ratfanclub.org (excellent site, check out the rat info section)
http://www.petinfopackets.com/rats/ratinfopacket.html (excellent site)
well, it is normal for rats to chew and destroy stuff (my rats have chewed up some of the wood frames in my room and the bathroom. You can try bitter apple for rats (I think you can find it online) and see if that works. Didn't work for me though, my girl Sheila (the one who likes to chew on everything) thought it was candy. >.< You can try teaching her no... but I am not quiet sure how you could go about it. If you want, go to livejournal.com, set up a free account and join the 'ratties' community. You can ask the members if they have an suggestions (they are VERY helpful). If you have any questions on how to find the community, my account is Dream_Chaser023. Sorry I couldn't very helpful this time around :(
