Take one step at a time. Finish your education, and then you will be able to support and take care of the animals, and birds you so love. Cat's are wonderful in the correct environment, they aren't like birds or dogs they are predatory and you have to be sure they will not go after the doves that you want to care for. I don't know much about Wolves, but I am sure many others on here can help you with them. Take care my friend, take it slowly, one step at a time.

Permalink Reply by Lisbeth Mønsted Larsen on November 10, 2011 at 3:18am Never ever consider keeping wild animals as pets they are called wild for a reason if you have that keen an interrest you might consider a degree in zooology and find a job at a zoo in that way you would help in conserving species that are endangered as well as quench you thirst for exotic animals remember no wild animals should be locked up in a cage at any given time. Execpt in zoos where their needs should be met as in very large enclosures where their natural habitat and way of living is considered. Keeping animals requires knowledge so therefore I would sugest you read as much about them as you can and when is right you could become a zoo keeper or help at an animal sanctuary. As Kathi said take it one step at a time. Finish your education first and foremost and then take the next step. Take care and know we all care.

Permalink Reply by Lisbeth Mønsted Larsen on November 11, 2011 at 3:16am You are very welcome Jaejun. Any time I live a very happy life with my four lads(boys) three ex-racing greyhounds and one whippet they were my dream growing up somehow. I grew up in East Africa and was constantly sourrounded by wild animals they were out and about no one tried to get close to them as wild animals are dangerous. We had hippoes on the golf course on the other side of the road. There were crocs in lake Victoria and loads of beautiful birds in the trees both superb starlings and humming birds like living jewels among the foliage very brightly coloured flowers and passion fruits ans papaya in our own garden. Antilopes littered the fields close to home the occasional leopard could be seen at a distance though that was rare as they are nocturnal and keep well away from humans. So I leant early on that the wild animals are just that wild. If you bathed in Lake Victoria it could be lethal a hippo could chew you in half or a croc could see you as lunch. It became very clear during those years that some animals were on the brink of extinction meaning in a few generations they will no longer exist because of poaching and habitat loss.If you read about these animals you will learn what I know and why it is crucial to preserve these endangered species. You have your life ahead of you and what a diffrence you can make for those endangered species and ultimatly for your self as well.

Permalink Reply by Rodney Drury on March 22, 2012 at 8:47am Mhm I like the idea of a house surrounded by a big park with a lot of flowers and trees. I always buy serenata flower and put them in my garden - I already started planting my garden making it ready for spring and summer season and I am so looking forward to that. :)
Permalink Reply by Mandy S PBP Admin on July 29, 2012 at 12:29pm I know wolves and big cats seem like they would be cool to own but really you are just putting your self in harms way and robbing that animal of a good life. No matter how well you raise a wild animal they are still wild and so powerful. Instead of owning a wolf stick to huskys as they look just like a wolf but they are not wild animals. As to big cats stick to your house cat and maybe get an orange one, Wild animals DO NOT make good pets.
